8 Tips To Gain Work-Life Balance 

Work-life balance, it was already difficult to establish a balance. Now post pandemic the world has changed and so has our routine. Let's relearn our old normal work-life harmony. As we are in the post-pandemic era, we need to win back our balance, here I am going to share some tips on how to gain back that balance like a pro.

1) Ace to say "no": Set your boundaries

As we are trying to be back to normal saying no to things have become difficult, especially when its about work but setting boundaries is what has to be aced, Work life has to be kept out of personal life, do not take work calls when you are not scheduled to work. Go to that place where you wanted to be, rest for the day or do what you like and be there physically and mentally. Spend time with your loved ones, this will help you relax and give your hundred percent when you go to work next, maintain work-life harmony. This should be the mantra to your work-life balance. 

2) Make a to-do list, set a goal ✍️

To avoid creating a mess, you need work-life integration. Make a list, set a goal for the day, it will help you stay on track and avoid distractions. Start working on your goal on time as per the priorities, avoid procrastinating over it. As said time is 💰. Procrastination is bad for health and work, start when you are allotted the work to save the end minute stress, as for help if required, do not hesitate. It can become quite stressful if you start your work during the deadline, also this reduces the quality of your work. If you have a big load of work, do it in portion, with clear and calm mind. Keep your goals realistic and time bound. Soon your work will be done in no time and you will be able to enjoy your personal life with no stress.

3) How to reduce the work load? Work smarter not harder

It is not easy to have a work-life balance if your approach is not right. What do you think is better? Working hard or Working smart? The answer is what doesn't drain your energy, working hard is a great quality but working smart is greater. All of us want to pot our 100%, that's a great quality, but put your efforts according to the amount required. Go for it if it worth it. Optimize the skills that you have. This is one of the keys to have a successful work-life balance, when you learn to divide your energy, is when you will learn to have a good work-life balance. As we have heard the adage, "stitch in time saves nine." 

4) Follow your passion.

As easier said than done, today we don't get enough time to do what we are passionate about, or maybe we are unable to create that time, this has changed the equations in our life, it should be work + life = balance, but it has become work > life. Following our passion gives us something to look forward to, it relaxes us and gives us a different perspective. When you make your work the most important part of your life, you will have no personal life left, so try to create work- life harmony. Have something to look forward to, join that music class, resume painting, read books, tick off your bucket list, roam around the world, remove time for your interest. 

5) Consider the right path

A lot of times when the work culture is not right, it interferes with our personal life, creates problems and stressful environment outside work, it is harmful for our mind and life. If your job is disturbing the work- life balance that you should have, if it is costing you your peace, consider changing the job if necessary, it could be challenging when changing job or career after a long time, but if your job does not let you have your peace of mind, then its worth considering a change. Your boss, and other employees have to understand that you have a life outside work, you cannot be taking that work phone call on your off, or you cannot attend that meeting even over a skype call of a Saturday. If your job disrupts your personal time over and again then consider changing your job, same goes with your career, if you cannot see growth, or your current career does not make you happy then consider changing it, just do your research well before taking any step further.  

6) Job = Life ? NO

Know that your job is just a job, it is part of your life, but there is so much more to life. Good work-life balance will lead to a better life, no work-life balance will become exhausting and stressful. Do your job with full honesty and dedication, but do not cheat on your life for your job. Live your life, live for little and big moments, do more of the things you love. These tips were to make your life a little better, we are here to guide you, but to have the best blend of best of both worlds, your work and life balance, you need to work smarter and harder, to give your hundred percent to both and not get lost while managing.
