Life after lockdown. Just be happy

Now that we are picking up the pace since almost Armageddon hit, I hear a lot of complaints. These same people were also complaining when we were in strict lockdown mode. The one thing we have to remember is that outlook and mindset is key to many areas in our lives. I have heard complaints during lockdown like “I cook and clean and eat all day” and now “there’s no time to cook and clean.” There is no middle because life still happens and chores still need to get done. For me, it really starts with what makes me happy? How can I be happy? I think to a certain extent, being happy is choice. There are so many people that go through traumatic experiences and choose to rise. A grateful heart and attitude go a long way to being well and happy. It improves overall mental health.

To be well or not to be well?

This is definitely no easy task, so I can assure you that I am not standing on my high horse. It is human to struggle to find your happiness. It human to have dark moments or dark thoughts. You are not an exception and definitely within a decent range of normal. If you choose to be well then it means that you have made a choice to be at ease or content with everything happening in your mental and physical space. It goes beyond merely existing and drifting along. It is choosing to want to rise above all circumstances. It is choosing to have a glass half full mentality and show up for yourself every single day. By no means does this mean that we have to be perfect every day. In my view, we just need to try. Even one small step further than we was the day before is progress. Equally important is to pat yourself on the back at your achievement. Whether you are aiming to create wealth or simply on a health journey. It goes a long way in building your self-confidence, self-esteem and self-worth. More often than not, people are racing to the next goal. This is great but stopping to take a moment to look at your journey, achieves a deep sense of accomplishment. It can help reaffirm your future goals.

We build the image of us that others see

How you see and speak about yourself is aligned to how others see and speak of you. Your opinion of yourself matters. It is key in all relationships especially in romantic relationships. People often use the saying “if you don’t love yourself, it’s harder for some one else to love you”. Unfortunately, there is true in so many ways. Having a negative view of yourself, hampers your self-worth. Not too many, it negatively affects your mental health. It can find you in situations that force you to expect less than you deserve.
