14 Tips to get Dewy & Glowy skin this summer 2022!

if you ask any Beauty Guru, they'll break your lifelong myth of finding the secrets to glowing skin in the makeup that you tend to use. That doesn’t mean that there aren’t great products to blend into your skin but to find that lit-from-within look one needs to make some extra efforts. Rather getting a skin that permanently makes you look fresh, glowing, radiant, healthy and clear is a matter of practice and routine.

Glowy skin tips

  1. A quick face massage goes a long way

If you’re feeling out of place, a two-minute massage can help you look alive in the short term, as well as firm your skin. The stimulation can help the blood moving to wake up the facial complexion.

  1. Try a microcurrent treatment

If your hands aren’t cutting it, try a microcurrent device. If the complexion of face seems dull after a long flight or late night then trying a microcurrent needle or treatment might help.

  1. DIY Hydrating mask

When it comes to exfoliation or blemish fighting, skip the DIY route and go by the products made by a pro. But it’s hydrating even after you’re done then you can use a moisturizing mask made by you at home.

  1. Giving a good base to the foundation:

If your skin isn’t clear, you can easily make a fake glow by using a serum in the foundation. Adding a dewy base glow serum like L’Oréal Paris Lumi Glow Boosting Drops into the moisturizer is recommended by top makeup artists. It will create an even or a sheer layer on the skin that looks more natural.

  1. Use face shimmer on the collarbones:

The iconic makeup artist Pat McGrath always recommends using a highlighter on the collarbones and on the décolletage. The ‘My Skin Fetish Highlighter’ stick works amazingly as a body shimmer.

  1. Use Toner before serum or moisturizer:

Using a great moisturizer is a no-brainer for getting glowing, healthy skin but what you use before is just as important -Toner. Toner is very popular among the new generation and essential for hydrating and prepping the skin. The Lineage Cream Skin Toner and moisturiser is good for prepping skin.

  1. Strengthen your skin barrier :

Exfoliating two or three times a week is great for your skin, but any more and you can risk compromising your skin’s barrier function. A weak barrier can lead to flakiness, dryness and irritation in the skin. The Thank you Farmer Back to Relax Soothing gel mask is considered to be the best for soothing and giving a nice texture to skin.

  1. Add Vitamin C to your routine :

If you Ask any skin expert they’ll recommend a vitamin C serum for radiant skin. Apply five drops of vitamin C serum underneath SPF each morning to reduce and specifically target radical damage, help lighten dark spots and even out the skin tone. I personally recommend and use the TruSkin Vitamin C Serum. It is currently the best in the market for adding more vitamin C to the skin diet as shown below in the picture.

  1. Shift to a chemical exfoliator :

Switch your classic face scrub for a chemical exfoliator ie: a peel, serum that uses AHAs,BHAs or PHAs. Chemical exfoliators break apart the bonds that hold the dead skin in place and gently clean it away. One should start by using a gentle acid a few times a week or a stronger one once a week to knock out the dullness, clear away dead skin cells and unclog pores. I personally use the the Renée Rouleau Rapid Peel Mask duo which is strongly recommended by skin specialists as a great chemical exfoliator. Using this twice a week has made my skin significantly radiant.

  1. MASK ON!!!

When your face looks Blah, you should do sheet masks regularly all times of the week for a special occasion or spa night. The St. Ives Glowing Apricot Sheet Mask has a great effect on the skin and is the best mask out there.

  1. Invest in a Laser Treatment:

While most of us must be skeptic about using laser on the skin but including a laser-treatment yearly on your skin to freshen up and renew the skin is considered good. Even though it might be out of pocket for some for a single treatment- $600-$1800. But its worth investing in because it makes the sun-induced spots fade away easily.

  1. Use a Salt Scrub

Using a salt scrub in the shower instead of using a loofah and then rising it off with extra exfoliator which is much more course than a normal one is highly recommended. This sloughs off dead cells for a smooth skin.

  1. Give a shot at Microneedling

It might sound scary but an in-office micro needling treatment can do wonders for acne and dullness. If it’s a super glowy skin that you’re looking for then micro needling with a hyaluronic acid filler injection is recommended to give a dewy look and stimulate glow on the skin.

  1. Take a Long relaxing detox Bath

Taking a fancy long bath before you exfoliate your skin is highly recommended. The Dove Crushed lavender and coconut milk exfoliating body polish scrub is proven make skin smoother and softer.
