Do you ever feel like going back to the older times when you were a child, living a stress-free life? You could simply do nothing and still be happy and sleep like a baby?
To be honest sometimes even I need to shut things down sometimes. It feels so good to relax and just focus on yourself rather than thinking about anything else in the world. And yes, it is okay to think about yourself once in a while to let things go and give yourself the love you deserve.

Here are 10 healthy lifestyle tips to help you lead a happy and healthy life
1. Focus on the present
Sometimes we tend to forget what is important right now. We tend to focus too much on how will it impact our future and the results that we are going to get from it. But those are short-term goals that might not even be a priority after some time. Rather, try to focus on the present, what is your current priority and work hard on that.

2. Put Health and Wellness Into Your Daily Schedule
Lists are great to stay on top of work and be productive. But that doesn't mean that you only need to include your work goals in your list. Your list should include time for you to relax, put the technology away, focus on your hobbies etc.
Try to keep a healthy balance between your personal wellness and the work that you need to do on that day.

3. Eat proper meals
Taking a healthy diet is so so important when it comes to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Try eating proper meals filled with nutrients and fibre. Whole foods contain a much higher amount of nutrients that your body requires daily.

4. Stay in touch with friends and family
I love talking to my family every day, sometimes they do get annoying. But still, it makes me feel like I am closer to them. It is important to stay connected to people you love. Take out time to talk to them about anything, doesn't matter. It helps you wind up after a busy day and relax.

5. Disconnect from technology
Taking time out for yourself doesn't mean you need to log out of work and go on Instagram or Youtube.
Try making it a habit to shut down technology for some time.
There are so many things that you can do that don't need phones, Ipads etc. You can go on morning walks, read a nice book etc.
Meditation is a great way to relax your body too. It can help you focus better on other things that you might wanna do during your day too. You can take some time out to meditate between your schedule or at the end of the day too, whatever works best for you.

6. Focus on one thing at a time
If you have a lot on hand, try to divide it according to the priority and the urgency of the task. Never try to do everything at once. 90% of the time you won't be able to do a single one of those things by the end of the day.
My professor used to ask us "How do you eat an elephant?". I remember the first time he asked that question everyone was so confused. But he would then answer "piece by piece". This meant that if you have a big task ahead, break it up into little manageable-sized chunks. In the end, you wouldn't even feel any burden of all the work that you would have felt otherwise.

7. Be surrounded by Wellness Opportunities
Research about things that are close to where you live. Look at some museums, hiking trails or even a karaoke bar. Try to find things that you can do during sad days.
If you are feeling a bit under the weather, you might wanna go outside and do something to lift up your mind.

8. Join a class or a club
Joining a class or a club is an amazing way to incorporate other activities into your daily schedule. It becomes part of your daily schedule and still encourages you to do something that you love.
Getting a gym membership is a great option too. Physical fitness plays an important role in building your mental fitness.

9. Follow a disciplined routine
Discipline is important for leading a healthy lifestyle. If you don't have discipline, all the above points are useless. You might end up following the routine for a week, but there is a high chance that you will go back to your old practices. Being disciplined will help you stay productive without putting extra pressure on your mind.

10. Learn to embrace failures and move on
It is very important to learn to let things go. Don't let irrelevant things take up too much space in your head for a long time. Your failures won't matter in the future, what matters is what you learn from them. So try to focus on what is more important.
Following this mindset will help you stay positive and get back to your routine fast.

Lastly, remember that all the difficult days are temporary. They are going to pass by quicker than you thought they would and what will matter in the end will be your happiness.
