From Skin Brightening to Cellulite Reduction, coffee works wonders for your body. It’s rich in antioxidants and makes your skin free from dead cells and makes it glow when applied in the right manner.
Here’s a list of various DIY Coffee Scrubs that are easy to make and are light on the pocket too!

Ingredients
1/2 cup of instant coffee
1/2 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup of Milk
1 tbsp of lemon juice
1 tbsp of honey
Bowl
Directions
Mix the coffee with the cocoa powder in your bowl.
Add in the milk and stir to make a paste.
Keep the paste thick by using less milk.
Add the lemon juice and honey.
Mix it up and apply it to your face.
Let it dry for 20 minutes and rinse!
Don’t forget to moisturize afterwards
- Coffee is a great exfoliator and helps in clearing dead skin cells. Acne occurs when oil, dead skin cells, and other grime clog pores, which then become infected by bacteria, resulting in inflammation.
- Lemon helps in clearing the acne scars, it tightens the skin and brightens it at the same time.
- Honey and milk help naturally moisturise the skin, keeping it healthy.
- Cocoa powder is rich in antioxidants and releases free radicals. It’s high in Sulphur, which helps in fighting acne.
You can try two different variants of the coffee eye mask
a. For Dark Circles: Coffee and Honey Eye Mask
Ingredients
1 tbsp Coffee
1 tbsp Honey
Few drops of Vitamin E oil ( Found in Vitamin E pills or you can use oil if available)
Directions
Mix all three ingredients.
Gently apply the paste under the eyes.
Wash it off after 15 mins.
Coffee has natural bleaching agents and helps in skin lightening under the eyes, helping in the reduction of dark circles.
Honey helps moisturise the under-eye area to reduce fine lines.
Vitamin E oil, having skin lightening properties, is beneficial for treating dark circles.
b. For under-eye bags: Coffee and Coconut Oil
Ingredients
1 tbsp coffee powder
1 tbsp coconut oil
1/2 tbsp black pepper
Directions
Mix the ingredients well.
Carefully apply the paste under the eyes, make sure not to get too close!
Wash it off after 15 mins.
Black pepper has antioxidant and antibacterial properties that help in fighting against the signs of anti-ageing and dark spots. This coffee eye mask helps in lighten, tighten and smoothen the skin under the eyes.

Ingredients
2-3 tbsp Honey
1-2 tbsp of instant coffee
Directions
Mix the honey with instant coffee.
Keep it coarse so that it helps in exfoliation.
Rub it in circular motions and try to avoid sensitive areas on the face.
Keep it on for 15-20 minutes and then rinse with cold water
Don’t forget to moisturise afterwards
Things can get a little messy with the application but don’t worry, it’s all edible haha!
Note: Don’t be too harsh on the skin by rubbing it vigorously. Be gentle with the application.
- Coffee is a great alternative for microbes found in facial scrubs which helps in exfoliation and removal of dead skin cells.

a. Coffee and Olive Oil Lip Scrub
Ingredients
1 tbsp coffee grounds
1 tbsp olive oil
Directions
Mix the two ingredients and rub them on your lips for 5 minutes.
Leave it for another 5 minutes.
Rinse it off
These coffee lip scrubs benefit by softening the lips and flushing them with colour. Not only that, coffee leaves a nice aftertaste as well.
b. Coffee and Cinnamon Lip Scrub
Ingredients
1 tbsp of coffee grounds
1 tbsp of honey
1 tbsp of coconut oil
A Pinch of cinnamon
Directions
Mix the ingredients well.
Rub the paste on your lips for 5 mins.
Leave it on your lips for 5-10 mins and then rinse it off.
This makes around 1.5 tbsps of scrub- about 10-15 uses.
It can be stored in an airtight container.
Coffee grinds help in exfoliating the dead skin on lips
Honey and coconut oil, simultaneously moisturise the dry skin of the lips.
Cinnamon makes the lips look plump and leaves a fresh taste as well.

1/2 cup Coffee Grounds
1/2 cup Brown Sugar
1/4 cup Coconut oil
Directions
Make sure that the coconut oil is liquefied and at room temperature.
Mix all the three ingredients well and store them in an airtight container.
Gently rub it on your body and keep it on for 15 minutes, then rinse it off.
Don’t forget to moisturise the body afterwards.
Coffee grounds and sugar, together act as great exfoliators and works wonderfully for cellulite reduction.
Coconut oil keeps your skin hydrated and healthy.
Before trying any of these scrubs, know your skin well. Do elbow patch testing to test any allergy before going for the whole body.
